RWK at VMG this Friday

Our good pals Robots Will Kill have been celebrating their 10 year anniversary like any good group of artists do: an art show and a trip to Vegas. Ok, maybe not the Vegas part, although I think the Luxor could use a bit of RWK stickers on that ugly glass pyramid. Spice it up Vegas!
If you are not familiar with the work of RWK, then you need to crawl out from under that rock you have been sleeping under (unless you are stuck under that rock, in which case, see James Franco on how to cut yourself out), RWK is a fantastic group of talented mo-fos. It includes artists Veng, Chris, JesseRobot, Peeta, ECB, Kev and Flying Fortress. Most of these folks have worked with Abztract in the past on art shows and random trips to Vegas, but now they are putting a great show at Vincent Michael Gallery. VMG hosted other Abztract Collective artists in the past such as Shai Dahan, Joe Iurato as well as Arkiv and Jordan Seiler. So we are not surprised to see this great gallery hosting RWK. We highly recommend you rent a zip car (or ask your roomate to borrow his van) and take a trip to Philly on April 1st if you are in NYC or surrounding areas. If you are in Miami, Los Angeles, San Fran or Europe, well, you may be out of luck (which is too bad since we heard the afterparty may be in Vegas.....ok, maybe not. but would have been cool).

So yeh, check the show out. info below:
The show is April 1st from 7pm-10pm at
VINCENT MICHAEL GALLERY

1050 North Hancock Street Suite 63
Philadelphia, PA 19123

Peeta joins Abztract Collective

Abztract is proud to announce the addition of Peeta to our collective. Peeta, a member of the Robots Will Kill family (along with Abztract Collective artists Chris RWK, Veng and JesseRobot), is from Italy and his work is something to be seen. His three dimensional art and sculptures are a refreshing take on graff art.
Below are a few pieces available on Abztract but we have much more. Make sure to visit the Abztract shop to see more at abztract.com/store/productsby/peeta

BirdGunBlog on a list among friends

Sometimes we find info about Street-Art in the strangest places. Today, we found out that this blog (BirdGunBlog) which is the official blog of Abztract.com was on a list of the "Top 49 Street Art Blogs".

First, we are honored. Most of our posts are about events and things happening with our featured artists. We try to expand to the rest of the street-art world at times, but we actually see some really great websites out there already who do that way better and more often than we ever can wish for.
Second, we are stoked to be on a list with such great names (as well as some friends of ours) including Unurth, Brooklyn Street Art, Vandalog, Streetsy, Arrested Motion and so many others we have had bookedmarked for ages and hope that you will too.

So, here is a link to the fabulous list of the: Top 49 Street Art Blogs. Take the time and visit each of them, we guarantee you will find a couple worth returning to (and make sure to bookmark this blog if you haven't already).

We are number 17 if you looking for us ;)

Taka Sudo joins Abztract Collective

Abztract is proud to have Taka Sudo join our collective in 2011.
Taka Sudo was born and raised in Tokyo Japan and moved to BC Canada in 2001.
His inspiration comes from his enviroment and random thoughts and objects.
Sometime on mountaintop with powder snow and sometime in overcrowded subways in Tokyo.
From a high mountain range to glassy skyscrapers.
With ketchup and with soysauce. With glacier beer and with sake.
These things he says, are inspiring to his creativity only a little.
"Glamourous people with amazing creativity", that is what he claims to be his true inspiration.

To check out his work you may visit the Abztract site at: TAKA SUDO
and you may also visit his website at: TiFdyL
